Open Rank Faculty Position (non-tenure track), Master of Public Health Program - Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences

The Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences (PQHS) at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine seeks to fill a non-tenure faculty position in our Master of Public Health (MPH) program. Rank will depend on qualifications. Assistant Professor rank will require strong publication record and teaching experience. Associate Professor rank will require commensurate publication record, national recognition, and leadership experience. The position will combine teaching, mentoring, research, and program implementation of a successful and growing, CEPH-accredited MPH program, including engagement with community partnerships. Preference will be given to candidates with experience with community engagement and professional expertise such as: community interventions (especially in urban or under-served settings), health behavior, health education and promotion, health management, health policy, health services research, qualitative and mixed methods, and/or epidemiology.

 

Applicants should have an earned doctorate in public health or population health, health promotion, or relevant field. Preference will be given to candidates with an MPH or DrPH and those with experience in teaching, curricular development, and community health activities. As this is an academic position, ideal candidates will have a track record in teaching and mentoring MPH students, program development, and community health activities. The position will include an administrative role as Assistant or Associate Program Director, depending on experience. We seek candidates with a continued commitment to: excellence and innovation in teaching, quality student mentoring and advising, research expertise relevant to community health, community engagement, and strong academic programming. 

 

This accredited MPH program boasts 11 dual-degree programs and strong interprofessional training and activities. The MPH program is housed in the department of Population & Quantitative Health Sciences (35 primary, full-time faculty) in the School of Medicine. The department also has thriving graduate programs in population and quantitative health sciences (PhD) and biostatistics (MS). The medical school is affiliated with the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, Louis Stokes V.A. Medical Center and The MetroHealth System.

 

Cleveland offers a rich and supportive environment for community and public health. The Healthy Cleveland Initiative, the Better Health Partnership, and the Health Improvement Partnership-Cuyahoga (HIP-C) are strategic city- and county-wide initiatives for improving health in the local community. CWRU provides a robust and collaborative research context including opportunities to partner with all neighboring local health departments and several centers such as the Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods, Center for Reducing Health Disparities, Office of Cancer Disparities Research at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Practice-based Research Networks Initiative. CWRU and its associated hospitals also provide a rich environment for clinical and population health research with significant support and resources available through the Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative.
