The Department of Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering (ECSE) at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in electrical engineering. Preference will be given to candidates at the assistant professor level, but applications at other ranks will be considered commensurate with experience and qualifications. Appointments will be considered for starting dates as early as July 1, 2020. All applicants must hold great promise for research leadership and grant funding, teaching excellence, and service contributions. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
The search is focused in the areas of micro/nanosystems and integrated circuits, with a strong emphasis in applications related to human health and symbiotic integration of humans with machines in wearable and implantable fashion. In micro/nanosystems, the department is looking for candidates with expertise in novel devices, heterogeneous integration, flexible/wearable systems and advanced packaging. In circuits and instrumentation, the department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in analog/mixed-signal integrated circuits for sensor interfacing. The department is particularly interested in candidates with experience in both focus areas. While preference will be given to candidates in human health and related technologies, outstanding candidates in micro/nanosystems and integrated circuits in applications related to energy, advanced manufacturing, and aerospace will also be strongly considered.
Successful candidates will hold primary appointments in the Case School of Engineering, although they may be eligible for additional appointments within other academic units of the university. Applicants should provide the names and contact information of three references in addition to a cover letter, research and teaching statements, and CV.
The search will continue until the position is filled; however, for maximum consideration the applicant should submit his/her materials by January 1, 2020. We welcome all nominations and applications for these available positions; please contact Laura Kuhar (email@example.com) for additional information or to submit your application materials.
