At this time, we have one opening for a full-time post-doctoral fellow in this NIH-sponsored Sleep Medicine, Epidemiology and Neurobiology Institutional Training Grant. Earliest start date is May 1, 2017. Appointments are for one year with a yearly merit renewal for 1-2 years for post-doctoral trainees. This NIH-sponsored training opportunity is offered at Case Western Reserve University, and coordinated through the Center for Sleep Disorders Research.
Positions are open to US citizens or those with permanent resident status. The research area is broad, encompassing the basic and applied clinical sciences for disorders of sleep and circadian rhythm. This interdisciplinary training will provide experience and knowledge in sleep medicine and science, which in turn interfaces with almost all organ systems and the brain.
Post-doctoral trainees will provide an outline of the general goals and methods for a research area, and can be matched with an investigator in the Center for Sleep Disorders Research, VA Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate independence, initiative, and creativity, and a strong research interest. The successful candidate must have strong analytical, oral and written communication skills and should be motivated to apply for external funding support at a national level. Prior research experience is neither required nor desired.
