Postdoc Position Available (Case Western Reserve University, Department of Pharmacology)

A postdoctoral position is open in the Department of Pharmacology in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Currently, the laboratory is funded by NIH on the project that focuses on discovering novel non-hydrolysable analogues of retinal chromophore in a context of potential therapeutic strategy for vision related degenerative diseases. Our research also aims understanding the role of the natural carriers for vitamin A-derived retinoids in the ocular delivery of these new retinal compounds.

The candidate should have a strong background in chemistry, biochemistry and/or molecular biology. Experience in protein purification, being familiar with the FPLC and HPLC instruments, and mouse handling is preferred. The applicant is expected to lead the project independently and be involved in the designing and conducting experiments and preparing manuscripts. As a Post-doc, he/she will present data at departmental seminars and scientific meetings. In addition, the Post-doc will be responsible for general laboratory management, maintaining laboratory organization, and training staff.
