POSITION OBJECTIVE
Postdoctoral position in the Rehabilitation with Insight from Robotics and Engineering (Rewire) Lab at MetroHealth Hospital and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. The lab’s focus is on sensorimotor rehabilitation innovations following neurological injury.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead assigned project(s)
- Design and conduct clinical trials with patients and analyze data
- Create new rehabilitation technology
- Publish peer-reviewed journal papers and present data at national and international conferences
- May supervise laboratory staff, scholars, and students
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Attend department and school education and outreach activities

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 0+
Education/Licensing: PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Human Movement Science, Neuroscience or equivalent
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Matlab and/or Python proficiency
- Experience conducting human subjects research
- Preferred background with reflex neurophysiology, robotics, gait biomechanics, and/or neuroimaging.
- Ability to independently manage a project
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Effective problem-solving skills; must demonstrate innovation and creativity, excellent analytical skills, sound judgment and good decision-making.
WORKING CONDITIONS
No special working conditions, but will be spending majority of time in hospital environment.
