Research Associate position in The Department of Population and Quantitative Health Services at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine
The Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine has a Research Associate position available in bioinformatics and computational biology pipelines for investigators in the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. Successful candidates will have at least 1 years of experience with programming next-generation sequencing data.
The responsibilities for this position include performing data analysis, prepare results summaries by providing data visualization and applying statistical methods with biostats team, and testing novel analysis pipelines and methods.
The candidate will have technical skills in 1) next generation sequencing data; understanding DNA and RNA sequence analysis; 2) familiarity with UNIX environment and running command line programs, proficient in scripting language (Perl or Python preferred), R (Bioconductor), and processing efficiency; 3) mastery of computational biology data formats (eg. FASTQ, SAM, GTFs, VCFs, CEL)
