Research Associate - Center for Computational Imaging and Personalized Diagnostics (CCIPD)

The Center for Computational Imaging and Personalized Diagnostics (CCIPD) at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) has a Research Associate position available.  The Research Associate should have expertise in radiology or imaging methodologies/machine learning.  The successful candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience and domain knowledge in radiology/imaging techniques.  Graduate level experience in a biological discipline or computer science/biomedical engineering is required.  An MD is preferred.

The Research Associate will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of the Center for Computational Imaging and Personalized Diagnostics when it comes to applying novel machine learning and deep learning tools in radiographic imaging of diseases towards detection, diagnosis, prognosis as well as treatment response.  The Research Associate will serve as the clinical lead in the radiomics (machine learning in radiology imaging) projects ongoing in the lab.  This will include expert annotations, segmentations, identifications of regions of interest, providing input in hand-crafted feature learning approaches, as well as quality control of images and algorithm validation and development.  Additionally, the Research Associate will be the point person regarding all of the multiple radiomics projects including data acquiring, de-identification, clinical data management as well as database upkeep.

In the past 7 years, the center has rapidly grown, now boasting over 60 members including faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students and post-doctoral researchers. The center members have received a number of awards from the NIH, DOD and the VA amounting to over $44M in federal, state and industry funding. Center members have published high impact papers in Lancet Oncology, Clinical Cancer Research, Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology and Nature Reviews Drug Discovery and been awarded nearly 50 patents.
