Research Associate positions in The Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine
The Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine has two Research Associate positions available in the areas of computational analysis of genomic, transcriptomic, molecular and pathways studies in a systems biology laboratory with local and national collaborations in chronic human diseases, such as psoriasis and cancer. Successful candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in genomics, functional genomics (RNA-Seq, protemics) and systems biology with publications in computer science and in genetics, genomics or systems biology.
The responsibilities for this position include applying existing analytical methods and pipelines, as well as developing new methods for analyzing genetic, genomic and systems data from studies of human disease, and where appropriate similar data from animal model studies. The successful candidates will conduct original research in development of bioinformatic, computational, statistical and related analytical methods. The positions involve collaborations locally, nationally and internationally, while presenting research results at national and international conferences and writing research papers and grants.
The Candidates will display independence and technical and analytical skills in 1) computer science and statistics – bioinformatics, network and pathway analysis, linear regression/modeling, and multivariate analysis. 2) Next generation sequencing methods and data analysis include DNA sequencing, microbiome, immunophenotyping, mRNA and miRNA profiling, and data integration, amongst others.
