Senior Research Associate position in The Department of Ophthalmology at Case Western

The Department of Ophthalmology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine has

a Senior Research Associate position available in the area of vision science, diabetes and

signaling pathway studies of diabetic retinopathy in the Taylor laboratory. Successful

candidates will have an advanced Medical Science degree (MD, PhD, Master’s of Science) and at

least 10 years experience in vision science research, as well as co-author publications in vision

science.

The responsibilities for this position include applying existing analytical methods and

microscopy in the retina. Conduct original research in the development of retinal vascular

disease. Coordinate collaborations locally and nationally. Assist in writing research papers.

The Candidate will have technical skills in 1) Vision Science – murine retinal microscopy,

leukostasis microscopy, microscopy of cellular viability, capillary degeneration microscopy, and

multi-variant analysis. 2) Diabetes – induction, quantification, and analysis of diabetesmediated

vascular pathology.
