Science Café Cleveland presents:
Why Do Knuckle-Walking African Apes Knuckle-Walk?
NOVEMBER 12, 2018
FEATURING:
Scott Simpson, PhD
Professor, Department of Anatomy, School of Medicine, CWRU
EVENT INFORMATION:
Walking on your knuckles is absolutely as odd as walking bipedally—a very peculiar way to get around! Only chimpanzees and gorillas do it, yet it doesn’t make sense, and this has bothered anthropologists for years. No one has come up with the reason why... until now! Researchers at Case Western Reserve University have cracked the evolutionary mystery! Join Scott Simpson, Professor in the Department of Anatomy at the CWRU School Medicine, at this month’s Science Café Cleveland to discuss why knuckle-walking African apes knuckle-walk!
