Beverly Saylor, PhD

EVENT INFORMATION:

Understanding the meaning and significance of a fossil find requires knowing when and where it lived. Professor Beverly Saylor of the Case Western Reserve University Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences describes some techniques used by geologists to measure the time since a particular fossil was a living animal. She examines the significance of those findings for 3.3- to 3.8 million-year-old fossils from Woranso-Mille, Ethiopia.
