Established this year, the Latino Alumni Network strives to build a supportive and active alumni organization within the larger CWRU community, as well as support current Latino students in alignment with CWRU’s core values of diversity and inclusion. In partnership with La Alianza and The Alumni Association, the Latino Alumni Network hosted its first event in September, a student welcome reception. Historical Marker Celebrates an Important Chapter for CWRU

Historic Markers for CWRU campus

During this year's Homecoming weekend, the newest historic marker on our campus will be dedicated on Sunday, October 8, at 3 p.m. at Amasa Stone Chapel. This fall, the university installed a Historic Underground Railroad Site marker on the corner of Adelbert Road and Euclid Avenue. One side of the plaque recognizes the role Western Reserve College, then located in Hudson, Ohio, played in the anti-slavery movement. The other side honors Horatio Cyrus and Martha Cozad Ford, whose home served as a stop on the Underground Railroad. The land the home stood on later became part of the university’s campus when it relocated to Cleveland. The ceremony will be followed by a reception. This celebration is free and open to the public.
