Imaging Facility
Zeiss LSM510 inverted confocal microscope system
The Confocal Microscopy Core Facility at the Cancer Center at CWRU houses a Zeiss 510 laser scanning confocal microscope with an inverted microscope and equipped with an argon laser for 458, 488, and 514 nm excitation and He-Ne lasers for 543 and 633 nm. In addition, a tunable Ti-Sapphire laser (Mira-F-V5-XW-220) with a diode pump laser (Verdi 5 W) provides 700-900 nm femtosecond pulsed excitation for two and three-photon imaging. The system is configured for nondestructive, low-energy imaging of living cells labeled with parameter-specific fluorescent probes. The system includes stage heaters and environmental chambers.
