Mathematical events

• The Elizabeth S. Meckes Memorial Lecture will be held for the first time on April 21, 2023. The inaugural speaker will be Dr. Eugenia Cheng.

• The 2021 trimester program The Interplay Between High-Dimensional Geometry and Probability at the Hausdorff Research Institute for Mathematics was dedicated to Elizabeth.
• Persi Diaconis gave a talk in Elizabeth's honor as part of the trimester program.
• The 2021 Southeastern Probability Conference was held in Elizabeth's honor, May 17–18.

Personal remembrances

• Persi Diaconis's talk in Elizabeth's honor included a number of memories of Elizabeth as a person as well as a mathematician. Non-mathematical viewers may appreciate the segments from the beginning to 3:00, 5:35–6:15, 16:15–17:35, and 35:25 to the end. (Elizabeth would wish to clarify that she wore a leotard and ballet skirt to her ballet classes, never a tutu.)
• Former CWRU undergraduate Steph Hippo posted a Twitter thread about Elizabeth.
