Kennen = to know something (a
noun) and indicates an aquaintance with something.
If it is a noun, you use kennen, except for
words like "Adresse, Name, Telefonnumber" which just indicate knowledge,
not aquaintance.
Wissen = to have some idea of or to
know whether/if..., who...,how...,when...,what..., etc.
If it is a subordinate clause like whether/if...,
who...,how...,when...,what..., etc., then you have to use wissen.
