Course Description
Ever wonder:
- Why are the arts always on the educational chopping block?
- What do the arts in school have to do with test scores?
- Why is a balanced curriculum of STEM and the arts preferable to one with just STEM?
Through inquiries and analyses of arts education, political science, and education policy, this interdisciplinary course empowers arts advocates and teachers to participate in local policy activism by clarifying their goals and expectations as well as help them explore the education policy quagmire through the arts education lens.
