In Lab #5B, MAG-DIP, there have been several questions related to the figure you are to draw in Section D.4.4.  The data that you acquire and that you should place in a table will let you calculate the magnitude of the field at a fixed distance of 7 cm as the magnet is tilted 0, 30, 45, 60 & 90 degrees from vertical.  You can  use your measurements of BH and BV to find an angle  J = TAN-1(BV/ BH) of this field with respect to the table.  The figure below should help you convert this angle measured with respect to the table into an angle measured with respect to the dipole moment of the magnet, which is itself being tilted at an angle j with respect to the table.  What you need for your figure is the angle a measured with respect to the dipole when it is aligned with the z-axis.

To  provide you with more guidance on the figure to be drawn, we show below equivalent figures for the Electric Field of a point charge and of parallel plates, picking 5 points, all at 7 cm from the origin but at angles of 0, 30, 45, 60,& 90 degrees from the vertical.    This is the sketch you are asked to make for the magnetic field of a vertical dipole.
