Research Interests

Professor Rozek's research involves investigations of mechanisms regulating gene expression, especially transcription and processing of messenger RNA. The model system currently used is the myosin heavy chain and cytochrome b loci of Drosophila melanogaster. The Drosophila research involves investigations of mechanisms of RNA expression, convergent transcription, and structure of genes at chromosomal locus 36B.
