First funded in 2011, and renewed in 2017, the Case GI SPORE is an $11.3 million research grant awarded to the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (Case CCC) to establish a Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) in GI Cancers. The Case CCC joins only four other National Cancer Institute-nationally recognized SPORE centers of excellence in GI Cancers. Researchers from Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center and Cleveland Clinic, all members of the cancer center, collaborate in the research effort.
For more information about the SPORE program, please visit the NCI SPORE website.
Request for Proposals
The Case Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks proposals for projects to be included in the upcoming renewal application for the current Case GI SPORE program.
All Case CCC faculty members are invited to submit project pre-proposals to compete for R01-level funding for up to five years by selection for incorporation as a full project in the GI SPORE renewal application. All proposals must be directed towards translational research of a GI malignancy, with at least one specific aim that involves direct study of patients or of consented human tissues as defined in the SPORE RFA at: https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-20-305.html.
