Li Li, MD, PhD, Professor of Family Medicine, Mary Ann Swetland Professor of Environmental Health Sciences, Director of Mary Ann Swetland Center for Environmental Health and Associate Director for Prevention Research of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Li is board-certified in Family Medicine and maintains active clinical practice at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

As Associate Director for Prevention Research at Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, Dr. Li oversees and promotes research that cuts across all aspects of population sciences ranging from epidemiology and behavioral sciences to genomics and prevention.

Dr. Li is passionate about mentoring and training and founded the Clinical Translational Science PhD program at Case Western Reserve University in 2015.

    Research Projects

    Dr. Li has made significant contribution to the Oxford University-led international consortium for Colon Cancer Gene Discovery (CoGENT), and the USC-led Colorectal Transdisciplinary Study (CORECT) consortium.  He is PI of a NCI-funded T32 (previously R25) training program on Computational Genomic Epidemiology of Cancer (CoGEC) at Case Comprehensive Cancer Center.  He has established the relatively large population-based Kentucky SEER-based Colon Cancer Genetic Epidemiology Study and the Cleveland Colon Screening Cohort study. He is PI of a NCI U01 to examine 15-PGDH as a novel biomarker of individualized colon chemoprevention using NSAIDs, and co-leader of two (2) main projects in the recently renewed Case GI SPORE program
