Learn To Beat Cancer provides education and research opportunities for middle school students, their families and teachers. This program focuses on engaging Cleveland area middle school students, their families and teachers in exciting active learning, hands-on participatory education programs to increase their knowledge about cancer, introduce them to strategies for risk reduction and disparity elimination, and excite them about the possibility of pursuing careers in cancer research.
Students will participate in series of successive workshops designed to sequentially introduce cancer to students over three years of middle school and initiate their pursuit of careers in cancer research. Students in their 8th-grade year will have the opportunity to engage in a capstone research project.
