Alicia has over 7 years experience in higher education and an extensive background in all aspects of women and gender equity work. Prior to her role with Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, Alicia served as the Assistant Director for the Kent State University Women’s Center. In this role, she coordinated and planned the center’s gender equity programming and leadership initiatives for women-identifying faculty, staff and students. Alicia also served as the Program Coordinator of the Women and Gender Center at Kent State University where she developed programming for survivors of sexual violence.
Alicia holds a Master’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising from Kent State University. Her areas of research are African American women, their levels of motivation and the contextual influences that make them academically successful. Outside of her position at the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, Alicia founded a Non-Profit Organization known as Limitless Ambition, which has a mission to change the way young women dream of their futures! She serves as Limitless Ambition’s executive director, which has reached over 3,000 young women and girls through teen enrichment programs and workshops.
