Beth Embrescia (Past President / SAS '94)
Beth Embrescia is a social worker, community advocate, governance enthusiast and passionate participant in the lives of non-profit organizations. In addition to her role at the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, she is the current Chair of the Board of Trustees of Laurel School, an independent PK-12 girls school in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Over twenty years, Beth has been involved in many nonprofit organizations in a variety of capacities. She started her career as a clinician working with adolescents and their families facing mental health and drug and alcohol problems. She later worked in development and community relations at Benjamin Rose, a 108 year old agency that addresses issues on aging through policy and practice. Still dedicated to the social work profession, Beth has worked as a social work preceptor at the Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland and as a Field Instructor for social work students from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at CWRU. At the Mandel School, Beth sits on the Dean’s Visiting Committee and is an active member of the Capital Campaign and Centennial Committees. Beth is a member of the Chagrin Falls Educational Foundation Board.
