Faculty participation in commencement ceremonies emphasizes the value of the guidance, leadership and support you have given to students. We encourage you to attend and join your students and their families in celebrating this important milestone.
Faculty members can register now to participate in commencement.
The University Marshal leads the Case Western Reserve University’s graduates during commencement exercises. The university marshal is Robin Dubin.
Marching in Academic Processions
The university commencement will take place on Sunday, May 21, 2017, beginning with the commencement convocation at 9:30 a.m. in the Veale Convocation Center, followed immediately by the undergraduate diploma ceremony. Other diploma ceremonies will take place throughout the day at various locations. Line up for the morning ceremonies begins at 8:00 a.m. at Amasa Stone Chapel.
Faculty and administration who march in the convocation procession but do not wish to attend the undergraduate diploma ceremony, as well as students of the graduate and professional schools, will leave Veale Convocation Center at the end of the convocation (approximately 10:45 a.m.). Others will remain in their seats.
Academic regalia is required for those marching in the academic procession, including official delegates, faculty, administrators, trustees and platform guests. All delegates are requested to provide their own academic regalia. All Case Western Reserve University faculty planning to march in the convocation procession will need to obtain their own regalia from the University Bookstore. The deadline to rent/purchase academic regalia for commencement is Friday, April 21, 2017.
