Tickets + Viewing

Ticket Information

Commencement Day at Case Western Reserve University includes the university-wide convocation, followed by eight separate diploma ceremonies. Of these events, only the five ceremonies listed below require tickets. For guests without tickets, please review the information about auxiliary viewing locations on campus.

A campus map of the ceremony sites and viewing locations is available here. View the 2019 map.

Ticketed ceremonies:

Ticket allotments are based on the number of participating graduates and the capacity of the venue. Tickets are not required for graduates themselves, only their guests. Tickets are not available for sale. Lost tickets are not replaceable.

Please read below or click the ceremony name above for specific information for each ticketed ceremony.

University Convocation

All students who register to attend the university-wide convocation ceremony secure two guest tickets. Convocation tickets will be distributed to students through the schools and the Office of Undergraduate Studies during mid-April.

Doors to the Veale Convocation Center open at 8 a.m.  Guests must be seated by 9:15 a.m. for convocation. Ticketed guests arriving later than 9:15 a.m. will be seated after the academic procession has entered the Veale Convocation Center.

For guests without tickets, the convocation will be broadcast in several auxiliary viewing locations on campus and online via a live webcast.

Questions about ticket distribution for this ceremony should be directed to the Commencement Office at 216.368.2229 or commencement@case.edu.

Undergraduate Studies Diploma Ceremony

Each undergraduate student who registers to participate in commencement will receive two guest tickets for Convocation. These two tickets will also be valid for the Veale Convocation Center for the Undergraduate Studies Diploma Ceremony. Undergraduates who register for commencement will also receive one Undergraduate Diploma Ceremony ticket - this guest will view Convocation at another nearby venue on campus and then join the other two guests in the Veale Convocation Center for the Undergraduate Diploma Ceremony.

For guests without tickets, the Undergraduate Studies Diploma Ceremony will be broadcast in several auxiliary viewing locations on campus and online via a live webcast

During the registration process, students can submit a request for up to two extra Undergraduate Diploma Ceremony tickets should they become available. Submitting a request does not guarantee extra tickets. The availability of extra tickets is contingent on the number of participating students, which will be determined after commencement registration closes. If extra undergraduate diploma ceremony tickets are available, a random drawing will be used to allocate the extra tickets. Partial fulfillment of extra ticket requests is a possibility.

Students will be notified by the Office of Undergraduate Studies of their ticket allocation after April 15.

Students may pick up their tickets from the Office of Undergraduate Studies during April 22 - May 3, 2019. ID required to pick up tickets.

Questions about ticket distribution for this ceremony should be directed to the Office of Undergraduate Studies at 216.368.2928 or ug-studies@case.edu
