Research Projects
My research area is pathogenesis of oncogenic viruses such as Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). I am currently working on how periodontal bacteria enhance viral replication in the oral cavity to promote oral cancer in HIV/AIDS patients. I also work on how KSHV infection promotes angiogenesis, inflammation, and tumor growth.
