Gender Salary Analysis
Each year the Office of the Deputy Provost and the Office of Institutional Research conduct a Gender Salary Analysis with the goal of assessing salary differences between male and female faculty, both tenure and non-tenure streams. The analyses examine base salary differences controlling for a number of factors, including rank, age, years in rank, years since terminal degree, and tenure status, but do not account for productivity. The study also provides comparisons of supplements and summer salaries.

Faculty Climate Surveys
The Office of the Provost, through the Office of Institutional Research, has administered a Faculty Climate Survey on a regular basis for full-time faculty since 2004. The survey is intended to be administered every 3 years, and will be conducted again in January 2018. Results from the surveys previously conducted in 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2014 can be accessed here for all Case Western Reserve University faculty members with a CWRU ID.
Survey items cover a range of topics, including satisfaction, stress, workload, leadership, support, resources, tenure criteria and retention. The survey also assesses faculty perception of the environment for inclusion and diversity.
The Report gives descriptive statistics by school and the university for each dimension covered, and compares Case Western Reserve University to a peer group of Association of American University schools, examines gender differences and, compares current perceptions with prior data to examine change over time.
A component of the survey issued through the Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity specifically addresses perceptions of comfort and peer interactions related to diversity.
