Content Partner: Cleveland Public Library

The Cleveland Public Library’s (CPL’s) collections have been central to the content of the Encyclopedia of Cleveland History since the creation of the first edition in the early 1980s. The Library’s extensive collection of annual reports and other publications from area businesses provided critical information for many of the entries in business and industrial history. Many of the images in the second (1996) edition of the Encyclopedia came from the collections of the Library. Today, CPL’s growing body of digitized images and publications are being linked to many of our articles and its strong local history collections are providing important research resources for our staff and volunteer editors.
