Eric L. Dicken leads the Donor Relations and University Events team to present memorable experiences that advance Case Western Reserve University and engage our community. In 2004, the university’s hosting of The Race at Case: The Vice Presidential Debate introduced Eric to large-scale events at Case Western Reserve. He managed the 300+ volunteers required for the event. In January 2005, Eric joined the University Events team full time.
He served on the core events team for Forward Thinking: The Campaign for Case Western Reserve University, which launched publicly in October 2011. The initial $1 billion goal was met two and a half years before the target, and the goal was increased to $1.5 billion.
He is a member of the North American Association of Commencement Officers and the Protocol and Diplomacy International - Protocol Officers Association. He earned a BA in English and Theatre Arts from Hiram College, an MEd from Kent State University, and a Master of Nonprofit Organizations from Case Western Reserve University. He is a graduate of the Protocol School of Washington.
Eric's community involvement centers on his passion for arts and culture, and includes previous board service to the Cleveland Arts Prize and Near West Theatre and a longstanding affiliation with the Cleveland International Film Festival. In 2015 he joined the board of the Cuyahoga County Public Library Foundation.
