Due to unexpected challenges with supply chain and shipping, you will receive your Common Reading Book, The Fortunes, by Peter Ho Davies on campus during Discover Week.

The Common Reading Program for first-year students is a long-standing tradition that provides new students with a shared experience that may involve programming and discussions during your first year.

Peter Ho Davies, the 2022 Elaine G. Hadden Distinguished Visiting Author, will provide the keynote address during Fall Convocation on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 4:45 p.m. in Severance Music Center. Davies is also the recipient of the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award, and his 2021 book, A Lie Someone Told You About Yourself, was also named a New York Times Notable Book.

You can learn more about Peter Ho Davies in the Common Reading resource guide created by the Kelvin Smith Library.
