National Youth Sports Program

The National Youth Sports Program (NYSP) at Case Western Reserve University provides an enriching five-week summer camp experience that combines sports activities, education, nutrition and health services to more than 570 economically disadvantaged Greater Cleveland youth age 8 to 16.

School-Based Outreach

An award-winning volunteer tutoring and mentoring program that was founded in 1988. The program uses the talents of undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students from CWRU to provide tutoring and mentoring services to youth that attend Cleveland public schools. The program invites both volunteer and work-study students from CWRU to serve throughout the year.

TRIO Talent Search

The Educational Talent Search (ETS) Project of Case Western Reserve University provides free college, career, and financial aid information, along with academic tutoring and mentoring, to approximately 500 students each year. ETS identifies and selects students who demonstrate the potential for postsecondary enrollment and provides them with the motivation and support to enroll in a program of postsecondary education (college, university, technical or vocational school) after high school graduation.

TRIO Upward Bound

Trio Upward Bound is committed to providing access to postsecondary education to low-income and potential first generation college secondary school students, beginning at the ninth grade through the 12th grade. Through services provided by our program, which include academic assistance, counseling and advising, academic instruction, tutoring, college planning and placement assistance, cultural activities, internships, community service opportunities, and career exposure during the summer and the school year, we aim to increase the number of underrepresented individuals obtaining a four year college degree.
