Fall New Student Orientation
New Graduate Student Orientation is a self-guided, online resource to prepare grad students for their time at CWRU. An in-person Welcome to Campus event will be held on Tuesday, August 23 in the Tink. Students who submitted photos by August 18 can pick their new student ID cards during our welcome event on August 23 or from our office (Tomlinson 203) the remainder of the same week. Any students who did not submit their photo or who waits until classes begin will need to visit Access Services. Any questions about Orientation can be sent to sgsevents@case.edu.
Summer Degrees & Diplomas
For students who completed their programs this summer, degrees have been awarded on Friday, August 19. Students are being informed how they can receive their diploma. Please note, diplomas will only be released after all financial obligations to the University have been met.
Waiver of Registration
Students who were registered for at least one credit hour during the summer semester may be eligible to waive registration for the fall semester, if they submit all final materials, including the Waiver of Registration form, gradstudies@case.edu by Friday, September 9. Your student must also apply to graduate in SIS. The Waiver of Registration form does not require your signature as advisor but international students must also have it signed by International Student Services (ISS).
Student Medical & Fitness Plan Waivers
If students intend to waive the Student Medical Plan or waive the One-to-One Fitness plan, they must submit the requests by Friday, September 9. Students must have comparable health insurance to waive the medical plan. Regardless if students waived either plan in previous years, all students are automatically enrolled at the start of the fall semester in both plans and must again submit waivers.
Sabbatical & Temp Housing
Academic appointees with temporary housing needs (visitors, new appointees, those taking a leave of absence) can review this listing of sabbatical and temporary rental housing options offered by CWRU faculty, staff, and students. You can also submit a rental to be added to the list.
Academic Impressions Resources
As a reminder, CWRU has partnered with Academic Impressions to provide professional development resources to faculty, staff, and administrators. Check out the current top 5 most popular resources.
CWRU Innovation Week
Mark your calendars for the University's inaugural Innovation Week, September 12 to 16 to celebrate the CWRU's culture of innovation and entrepreneurship with panel discussions, fun lunch options, and an event to honor top faculty innovators! Keep watch on The Daily for updates in the coming weeks.
