Submitting Summer Graduation Materials
For students who have applied to graduate for Summer 2022, all final materials must be submitted to Grad Studies by 5:00pm EDT on Friday, July 8. Submission of materials includes the completed format check and the uploading of the approved thesis or dissertation to OhioLINK. Students should communicate with their advisors and committee to make sure all approvals are completed. All forms can be downloaded and electronically signed to be emailed to gradstudies@case.edu or returned to our office in Tomlinson 203.
Apply to be a UCITE Learning Fellow
This fall semester, the University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education (UCITE) will host a weekly seminar series for teaching faculty to explore how students learn and to discuss innovative teaching practices for the classroom. The fall cohort will meet each Thursday 1:00 to 2:15pm from September 1 to December 8. Those who complete the program will receive a $2,000 grant for academic purposes.
Changes to Adobe Software
Acrobat and other Adobe products are used extensively at CWRU by faculty, students, and staff. Please review these significant changes effective Friday, July 1. Acrobat Pro will now require an annual fee for students (staff and faculty can request a free license); there are free software alternatives. If you, your students, or colleagues on campus have files stored in Adobe Cloud you will want to download by July 1. You can reach out to [U]Tech for assistance.
Graduate Student Awards
This spring, the Graduate Student Awards Ceremony returned after two years virtual. You can watch the ceremony on YouTube, view photos from the in-person event, and download individual slides for each winner. Nearly 150 students were honored with awards from departments all across the University. Also at the ceremony, the student-run selection committee presented this year's faculty winners of the John S. Diekhoff Award for Graduate Teaching and Mentoring.
See our June student newsletter for additional student winners of awards outside our ceremony.
Donate to or Attend a Community Baby Shower
The CWRU Postdoctoral Association will be collecting new and used diapers, wipes, children's toys, books, and clothes (up to size 6T) for a Community Baby Shower on Wednesday, July 27 at Edgewater Park from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Any new parents in the community are welcome to attend the event; email former CWRU postdoc Marie McCausland to register to attend, but walk-ins are welcome too.
Donations can be dropped off until July 15 at Grad Studies (Tomlinson Hall 203) or Flora Stone Mather Center for Women (Tink 248).
Please be aware of University resources you can share with your students as needed. We will highlight a few each month.
