Applying for Fall Graduation
If your student has completed or will complete all graduation requirements this semester they will need to apply in SIS for January graduation by Friday, October 7. If they applied to graduate in spring or summer 2022 but did not complete all requirements they must apply again this semester. All graduation materials must be submitted to email@example.com by December 9.
Effective this semester, students in the School of Graduate Studies will receive a two-day break from classes and class activities in the fall; this break will correspond to the undergraduate calendar: Monday, October 24 and Tuesday, October 25. Please note that this exemption applies only to classes and class activities; faculty may still require graduate students to perform research activities during fall break.
New Course Action Form
The former SIS Online Course Action Form has now been replaced with an electronic process using a new Course Action Form. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you still need access to the new system or have any questions. You can also request training for your department.

Members of the community are invited to apply to be a mentor of women-aligned doctoral students at CWRU in similar fields. Mentors are expected to meet with their mentee about once a month as well as attend larger events in October and April. The Doctoral Professional Mentoring Program is managed by Women in Science and Humanities Earning Doctorates (WISHED) and applications are due Thursday, October 6.
Additionally, the Women in Science and Engineering Roundtable (WISER) is also seeking mentors for women-aligned undergrads in its Professional Mentoring Program.
New Director of Postdoctoral Affairs
In August, Felicia Moss was officially appointed as the Director of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs in Grad Studies. Felicia is not a new face on campus; prior to this, she served as interim director since the spring as well as with our admissions team for years. Any questions about postdocs at CWRU can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
