University announces offer of voluntary retirement incentive package for eligible employees

Case Western Reserve University has announced a Voluntary Retirement Incentive Program (VRIP) for staff who meet specific eligibility criteria and who may be contemplating retirement. VRIP will provide a substantial benefit to participating staff, while allowing units to reduce expenses during this uncertain time.

Like other universities, Case Western Reserve already has made budget cuts and anticipates more will be required given the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and corresponding economic downturn. This  limited-basis program is one aspect of  broader cost saving measures.

Eligible staff will receive information on VRIP, as well as invitations to participate in information sessions pertaining to the program. The university has also prepared an FAQ page for staff to reference.
