Travel Policy for Faculty & Staff: Winter/Spring Semester 2021

CWRU is prohibiting all international travel and domestic travel outside of Northeast Ohio for university-related activities for Winter/Spring Semester 2021.

Faculty members seeking exceptions to this policy should complete the faculty travel form. The Office of the Provost will coordinate reviews of applications.

Staff members seeking exceptions to this policy should complete the staff travel form. Human Resources will coordinate reviews of applications.

In both instances, the respective committees will include representation appropriate to the request—for example, international affairs, student affairs, campus services, university health services, emergency management, general counsel and the president.

Please keep in mind, the university’s highest priority is the well-being of the campus community. Given the health risks of COVID-19 and infection risks related to travel and large gatherings, applications are unlikely to win approval unless the purpose is truly compelling in terms of benefit to the university—and cannot be achieved in any other or later way.

Faculty and staff who wish to travel for personal reasons should consult Ohio’s COVID-19 Travel Advisory to determine whether they will need to quarantine at home for 14 days after their return to Northeast Ohio.
