Case Western Reserve University is grateful to be partnering with Xi’an Jiaotong University in China to provide an on-campus living experience for students living in China during fall 2021.
This program is available to Case Western Reserve graduate students who are Chinese nationals in select Case School of Engineering, School of Law and Weatherhead School of Management programs and unable to secure a U.S. visa in time to attend classes in person in Cleveland this fall.
The program began in fall 2020 to allow Case Western Reserve students to live together on Xi’an Jiaotong University's new QuJiang (iHarbor) campus and form a Case Western Reserve community while taking courses remotely due to challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Case Western Reserve is excited to have this opportunity available to our international students during this challenging time.
This page provides resources for our students living at Xi’an Jiaotong University. Anyone with questions can email email@example.com.
Fall 2021 Information
- Registration will open the week of July 26, 2021 and close on August 5, 2021 at 12 PM EDT (Midnight in China).
- Students will register for XJTU housing between August 30 and September 2, 2021. Students are not formally committed to the CWRU at XJTU program until they register and pay for XJTU housing.
- If you have questions about registration, please contact Kevin Sullivan, Coordinator of International Projects, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students will pay tuition to CWRU as they will continue to take a full load of CWRU courses remotely. Students should already be registered for CWRU courses.
Students will pay housing costs directly to XJTU. Housing costs are as follows:
- Current (Spring 2021) CWRU at XJTU students: 12,000 RMB
- New CWRU at XJTU Students: 13,400 RMB
This amount does not include meals. Meal plans are available for purchase directly from XJTU.
Students will take CWRU classes remotely, and should be registered for a full course load. They also may have access to classrooms where they can take classes virtually together.
Students will not be taking XJTU courses. They will, however, have access to the library, cafeteria, open programs and certain other XJTU facilities.
In addition to being CWRU students, students will officially become visiting XJTU students.
Once students arrive at XJTU, they may apply at the one-stop service center for an ID Card for Visiting Students. The ID Card will allow students to scan for food or any other purchases across the campus.
Fall 2021 Move-in Date: Saturday, September 11, 2021
Fall 2021 Move-out Date: Friday, January 14, 2022. This is the last day for students to move out of XJTU housing. Students should keep in mind that they must arrive at Case Western Reserve prior to January 10, 2022 for the start of the Spring 2022 semester.
