Undergraduate Visiting Students

There are several ways Case Western Reserve accepts incoming visiting students:
If you are enrolled as an undergraduate, degree-seeking student at one of our exchange partner institutions (listed below) or a GE3-affiliated university you can apply to study abroad at Case Western Reserve for one or two semesters as an exchange student. To get started:
- Contact the study abroad office at your university to begin the application process.
- Once you are accepted by your home university, you will receive information on how to apply to Case Western Reserve or GE3. If you have questions on how to complete CWRU’s application process, please email exchanges@case.edu.
- Once you are accepted by Case Western Reserve, you will be given information on how to apply for your visa and register for classes.
- Pack your bags and come to Cleveland!

Visiting Law Students
If you are enrolled as a degree-seeking law student at one of the institutions listed below, you can apply to study abroad at Case Western Reserve for one semester as a visiting student. To get started:
- Contact your study abroad office or your academic department to begin the application process with them.
- Once you are accepted by your home university, you will receive information on how to apply to Case Western Reserve. If you have questions on how to complete Case Western Reserve’s application process, please email Sarah.Polly@case.edu.
- Once you are accepted by Case Western Reserve, you will be given information on how to apply for your visa and register for classes.

Brazil Scientific Mobility Program (BSMP)
The Brazil Scientific Mobility Program (formerly known as Brazil Science Without Borders) is a fully funded scholarship opportunity for Brazilian students enrolled in a STEM field to study abroad in the United States for one year. The program is facilitated through the Institute of International Education.
Grantees who wish to study abroad at Case Western Reserve through the program need to visit the International Office at their university and subsequently apply through the Institute of International Education.
Case Western Reserve does NOT accept direct applications for this program.
Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES)
The CAPES Foundation is a public foundation established in 1951 within the Ministry of Higher Education, as a Brazilian government agency awarding scholarship grants to graduate students at universities and research centers in Brazil and abroad. CAPES is particularly focused on training doctoral candidates, predoctoral, short-term researchers, and post-doctoral Scholars. The program supports about 22,000 students in Brazilian graduate programs and 1,500 in other countries.
The CAPES program is facilitated through the Institute of International Education, but applying for a grant must begin with the Brazilian Ministry of Education.
