March 9 Message to Students Planning to Participate in a non-CWRU Summer Study Abroad Program

To Our Students Planning to Study Abroad this Summer:

Given the rapidly evolving news regarding COVID-19, we wanted to contact you directly regarding how Case Western Reserve is approaching aspects of the outbreak that could affect those studying abroad.

First and most importantly, your health and safety are the university's highest priority. We are closely monitoring global and domestic developments, consulting with colleagues at peer institutions and also receiving guidance from local infectious disease experts. To learn more about the university's overall response and see related communications, please visit our updates page.

As of this writing, we have not cancelled any summer study abroad programs. However, this situation could change at any time. We strongly recommend that you do not purchase airfare unless it is completely refundable. We are in close contact with our partner institutions and providers, and we will let you know of any changes as soon as we learn of them. You may also want to check with your program providers and host institutions regarding their policies on program delays, interruption, relocation, cancellation and refunds.

In addition to the university-wide COVID-19 updates page, we also have a separate COVID-19 study abroad page with the most recent information relevant to you. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office at studyabroad@case.edu. We are here to support you.
