Important Information On The Windows 7 Enterprise Upgrade

Important: You must have Windows Vista Enterprise or Vista Business installed on your computer to use this upgrade. No other version of Windows can be upgraded including XP, Vista Home (all) or Windows 7 Starter, Home (all) or Professional.

The Windows 7 Enterprise Upgrade software that you downloaded is distributed in an ISO image format. In order to use this software, you must be able to burn a DVD from the ISO image file or mount the ISO image on a virtual drive. This capability is not a standard feature of Windows XP and requires 3rd party software. If you require ISO disk burning software please see the links to freeware software listed below.

IMPORTANT Windows 7 may not be compatible with all of your currently installed software or hardware. We recommend that you run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to check compatibility. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. You have downloaded an upgrade product. Because of this, you must own a license to an earlier version of Windows before installing this product. Note: Do note format your drive prior to installation. You must have a licensed copy of Windows on your machine and you will not be able to boot from the DVD to do a clean install to an existing boot partition. Only In-Place installs or installs to a second partition are supported.
2. Burn a DVD from the .iso image downloaded from the Software Center or mount it on a virtual drive.
3. Run setup.exe for an in-place install.
4. Follow the on screen prompts as presented by the Windows 7 installer.
5. Windows Activation is via KMS, you do not need to enter an activation code and no code will be sent to you from the Software Center.
