Event Description

This two-day conference is the first state-wide legal education opportunity in Ohio for judges, attorneys, and legal professionals interested in the causes of wrongful convictions, the use of conviction integrity units in prosecutors’ offices, and the ethical obligations and issues for attorneys that arise in wrongful conviction cases. Developed, sponsored, and offered by the Ohio Innocence Project of the Rosenthal Institute for Justice at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, Cuyahoga County Prosecuting Attorney Michael O’Malley’s Office, and Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Featured speakers include Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor of the Ohio Supreme Court, OIP Director Mark Godsey, Cuyahoga County CIU Director Russell Tye, Director Patricia Cummings of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office’s CIU, Chief Assistant Disciplinary Counsel Joseph Caliguiri, Innocence Project Policy Director Rebecca Brown, and a faculty of prosecutorial experts from around the country.
