Jonathan Adler, the Johan Verheij Memorial Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Business Law & Regulation at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, has been elected to the prestigious American Law Institute, the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law. The 90-year-old institute, which is comprised of exceptional judges, lawyers and legal academics, drafts, discusses, revises, and publishes Restatements of the Law, Model Codes, and Principles of Law that are enormously influential in the courts and legislatures, as well as in legal scholarship and education. Of the 17,000 law professors in the United States only a handful are elected to the ALI each year. Professor Adler joins eight other law faculty from Case Western Reserve among ALI’s elite membership—including CWRU President Barbara Snyder.
