POSITION DESCRIPTION The Kelvin Smith Library of Case Western Reserve University
seeks a creative, collaborative individual to serve as Research and Engagement Services
Humanities Librarian. The Research and Engagement Services Librarian is responsible for
managing a balanced portfolio of four key activities in support of the programs of the Arts and
Sciences including, History, Modern Languages and Literatures, and other disciplines in the
Humanities: (1) collection management, (2) instruction, (3) research support, and (4) client
engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in Library Science or relevant area and 1 to 3 years of
experience.

ENVIRONMENT The Kelvin Smith Library is a dynamic, technology-rich, highly collaborative
organization and the recipient of the 2019 ACRL Excellence in Academic Libraries Award. KSL
is a member of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), OhioLINK, and CNI. Supported by
an endowment, the services of the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship advances research
by partnering with scholars and providing expertise on suite of digital scholarship services.
Founded in 1826, the University is an internationally recognized private research university
serving 5,792 undergraduates and 6,277 graduate students with a full-time faculty of 3,657.
Situated in Cleveland’s vibrant University Circle cultural community, CWRU is an integral
