The Astronomy Library is a satellite library of the Kelvin Smith Library. Though located within the Case Western Reserve University Department of Astronomy, the Astronomy Library serves all members of the CWRU community.
The astronomy research collections contain over 3,000 books, atlases, star catalogs, and reference works, over 4,000 bound periodical volumes, and 480 linear feet of observatory publications. To search online for items in the Astronomy Library, please visit the catalog and use the “Advanced Search” option with the “Location: Astr” selected.
Patrons can borrow books through the Astronomy Department’s Assistant, Agnes Torontali, located down the hall from the Astronomy Library in Sears 567. The library also features a reading area for browsing books and current print periodicals.
In addition to print resources, patrons also have access to astronomy resources online. Visit the library’s research guide for more information.
The Astronomy Library is located in the Astronomy Department, Room 556 in the Sears Library Building on the Case Quad. Access is by appointment only — please arrange your visit by contacting Agnes Torontali, Astronomy Dept. Assistant (Phone: 216-368-3728).
