It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Alvin Siegal, our program's benefactor, who passed away on September 25 at the age of 95.

Alvin and his wife, Laura, were major benefactors of the College of Judaic Studies, so much so that the college was renamed the Laura and Alvin Siegal College of Judaic Studies in 2002 for the Siegals. In 2012, Siegal College and Case Western Reserve University announced they were combining their adult education programs into a new initiative, the Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at Case Western Reserve University.

The funeral will take place on  Friday, September 28th at 12:30 p.m. at the Oheb Zedek Cedar Sinai Synagogue (23749 Cedar Road, Lyndhurst, 44122) followed by burial at Zion Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following services and interment until 6 p.m. Sept. 28 at Beechmont Country Club, 29600 Chagrin Blvd. in Orange.

Shiva will be observed from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 2 and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 3 at the residence, 28950 S. Woodland Blvd. in Pepper Pike.
