In this course, we will examine the history of Jewish American theatre from the popularity of Yiddish theatre through the greats of American musical theatre, including artists such as Boris Tomashevsky, Al Jolson, Arthur Miller, and Rogers & Hammerstein. This course explores how Jewish theatre went from a niche immigrant pastime to one of the dominant threads of modern American theatre.
