The Merry Wives of Windsor, featuring one of Shakespeare’s most beloved characters – Sir John Falstaff – has had many productions over the centuries. But how have audiences received the play and found it relevant? This talk will examine past interpretations of the play and the history of its reception. We will also speculate on its relevance to today’s audiences – a perfect way to prepare for the upcoming Great Lakes Theatre performance.
