Palestinian Bassam Aramin and Israeli Rami Elhanan both lost their young daughters to the conflict. As former co-directors of “The Parents Circle”, an Israeli-Palestinian organization of bereaved families, they seek a path of reconciliation. Irish-American writer Colum McCann wove their stories into his award-winning novel “Apeirogon” - named for a shape with a countably infinite number of sides. Join us for a conversation with these three unlikely friends, as they discuss loss, literature, friendship, and their hopes for peace.
This program is held in partnership with Encounter, American Friends of the Parents Circle - Families Forum, Joseph & Florence Mandel Jewish Day School, The Cuyahoga County Public Libraries, Kol HaLev, New Israel Fund, Congregation Shaarey Tikvah, Fairmount Temple, The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, and the Mandel Jewish Community Center.
