In his book, American Dialogue: The Founders and Us, Joseph Ellis, a prolific American historian, considered contemporary issues facing America today and combs history for a sense of what some of our country’s founders had to say about them. In this session, we will follow Ellis’ lead and consider Thomas Jefferson’s view on race; George Washington’s on foreign affairs; John Adams’ on equality; and James Madison’s on law.
