Meet your robotic friend, Philos
This project aims to develop low-cost social robotic platforms for a broad range of applications in human-robot interaction. Philos, our first robot, was named after a Greek word φίλος, meaning friend. Woody and Philos V.2 are currently under development.
Socially assistive robots are uniquely positioned to play an important role in our rapidly aging society.
Vision-based face tracking, recognition, and emotion detection algorithms have been developed and being implemented in the robot.
